Privacy policy.

Seamonster Coding is a software development studio based in Clovis, California. This policy covers seamonstercoding.com and the information you share with us when you ask about a project or work with us. “We” and “us” mean Seamonster Coding.

Information you give us

• Project inquiries. When you use one of our inquiry forms, we receive your name and email address and, depending on the form, your company, phone number, preferred meeting time, project type, budget range, timeline, and project description.
• Direct contact. Anything you send us by email or share on a phone call.
• Project materials. If we work together: content, files, account access, and business information needed to deliver the project.

Information collected automatically

• Aggregate analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It collects anonymized, aggregate data such as page views, referring sites, and general device and location information. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
• Spam protection. When the contact form is submitted, your IP address and browser type are used to limit repeated submissions. This is held in memory for up to 15 minutes and not stored.
• Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site.

Client portal

If we provide you access to our client portal, we also store your account details (name and email), a securely hashed password, project and invoice records, and any contracts you sign electronically, including your typed signature and the time of signing.

We use the information described above to:

• respond to your inquiry and prepare scopes and quotes;
• deliver, support, and maintain the work we do for you;
• send invoices, process payments, and keep business records;
• keep the website and our systems secure and free of spam;
• understand how the website is used so we can improve it; and
• meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We don't add inquiry contacts to a mailing list or automated sales sequence.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only in these cases:

• Service providers who help us run the business and may only use it to provide their services to us: website hosting and analytics (Vercel), email delivery (Resend and Zoho Mail), and payment processing (PayPal).
• Legal requirements, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or needed to protect our rights, our clients, or others.
• Business transfers, if Seamonster Coding is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We would notify you before your information became subject to a different policy.
• With your permission, in any other case.

Payments made through the client portal are processed by PayPal. We never receive or store your full card or bank details.

The public website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and our analytics is cookieless. The client portal uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in.

Do Not Track. Because we don't track visitors across other websites or allow third parties to do so on ours, we handle every visit the same way, whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

We keep inquiry correspondence for as long as it's useful for responding to you and for ordinary business records. Client project records, contracts, and invoices are kept for the length of our working relationship and afterward as long as tax, accounting, or legal obligations require. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take protecting your information seriously.

Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw from further contact at any time. Email mckay@seamonstercoding.com and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We may need to keep certain records, such as invoices, where the law requires it, and we won't treat you differently for making a request.

This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Our portfolio links to client and project websites that we don't control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and its effective date. For significant changes, we'll also let active clients know directly.
